Research (UK, national) tells that more than 90% of those diagnosed as autistic experienced a better life, finally understanding, accepting and acting on being different. If you want to self-diagnose, then the Cambridge University AQ (Autism Quotient) screening test, which has high diagnostic prediction and is the most used test in large-sample research studies. Link to the test is here . Please note that a full diagnostic examination by a specialised neuro-psychiatrist/psychologist might still be important, especially to uncover co-existing conditions and to qualify for therapies, health care and other support as needed.

You might also want to self-diagnose for ADHD (Attention Deficit, Hyperactivity Disorder) which is a very frequent co-existing condition. The most reliable diagnostic test for adults is the Diagnostic Interview for ADHD in Adults (DIVA-5) – there is a fee of EUR 10 to cover the license for APA (owner of the DSM-5 manual).
